Gayla Coughlin has trained with multiple lineage teachers, is a medically trained manual therapist as well as a Continuing Education provider teaching the neuroscience of pain.  You are in good hands with Gayla, as she has worked for more than 15 years with injuries and rehabilitation.

We're dedicated to bringing the traditional form of Ashtanga Yoga into the lives of as many people as possible.  With the ever increasing number of students seeking the untold benefits of the practice, especially for injury or pain it is imperative we are fully trained and knowledgeable to keep them safe. 

We also offer a hot yoga set to a maximum of 90deg,  a safe form of heat prescribed by professional trainers; just a little added humidity means you will sweat while remaining safe and warm.

Yoga is a lifestyle, a dedicated commitment to our self to become more than what we are, to learn about our self in order to understand our mind, heart and soul.  The doorway to this journey starts with the asana (poses) practice which teaches us more than just movement; yogasana creates the space from which we become the observer of our own mind. 

Yoga is not exercise.

Yoga is about something different than just exercise for your body.  Yoga is about finding peace with your body regardless of physical ability, agility or appearances.  Sure....yoga postures are very challenging (if it doesn't challenge you it fails to change you!) and bring great benefits for healthy living and restoring function.  The immediate uses for yoga postures are in the creation of a space for you to re-learn HOW to use your body effectively which reduces pain and injury.  Increasing awareness of how your body operates and responds to demands is the key to understanding what you need to do for optimal health.

Ashtanga Yoga Las Vegas

Ashtanga yoga is the brainchild of Sri K Pattabhi Jois fondly known as "Guruji" by his longtime students consisting of six series of pre-sequenced poses.  Ashtanga differs from a Vi Nyasa style in that one series of poses (starting with Primary)  are practiced without change on an average of three to five years before moving into more poses. 

This aspect of its design lends Ashtanga to be considered a "dedicated practice" in which students are closely guided by a single teacher who understands you and your practice.  Staying with a single teacher is the most beneficial way to study yoga.
